Sept 2009 more images from beautiful beautiful whiskeytown lake

Well I have finally posted all the pictures from our weeks vacation. For those of you who enjoy the nature shots, these are really spectacular. This was sooo beautiful!!! If there any pictures you want a close up of, just double click on the picture and it will fill yuor screen. I recommend double clicking on the cute otter who came to visit us each day.
Our week off started with friday night in the city, to see the Dodgers beat the hell out of the Giants. Great fun any way. Thank you Sheila and Ra for great company and great fun!
Saturday night was girls night out with Michelle. We went to the Seal concert on Frost amphitheater. What a charming wonderful performer he is. I have long loved his music but Saturday he won my alliegence with his charm and humor.
Early Sunday morning we left to drive 5 hours north to Whiskeytown Lake which is 7 miles north of Redding. The forrest was entirely ours as everyone had retuned to school and work after the summer. We sailed, and swam, and cooked, and read , and did water colors, and hiked and slept in our gigantic starter castle tent which has sky lights so that we could see the million stars. I have never seen so many stars. Our wild life sightings included a great grey heron, our river otter who can each day, a wild mother turkey who walked through camp like she owned it, enormous vultures who lived in the tops of the pine trees acoss from our lagoon, many many wild ducks, one little grey squirrel. We saw alot of freash bear scat but were lucky enough not to run across any bears, altough the ranger told us that there was a bear who came down to swim in the harbor each morning. This is such beautiful country and we were so relaxed that vacation accomplished all that it was intended to ........sailing on this lake is a dream. We hope you all enjoy these , the people pics are at the end of the second posting.......

Love
