crowing roosters and baaing sheep

It is so funny, you have heard 'cock a doodle do' and' baa baa black sheep' all your life, but never realized that that is the sound they really make.

I am sending this your way this evening so you can see some of the fun we had on our vacation. I have posted a lot of pictures and tried my best to narrate them. When you get to the bottom of this page hit the link "older Posts" on the bottom of the page. It will take you back to the next one. I will continue to post tomorrow and of course some of our dinner in or garden tomorrow night.

Love you all

Watch Peacock

Some people have watch dogs, we had a watch peacock. when ever they sense an intruder they make a racket like you wouldn't believe. There was a grey fox prowling around the property one afternoon and the peacocks were going crazy!

Bodego Bay art and wine fest.

We stopped to see our friend Harold who is a potter. He does really beautiful work!

playing bocci ball with early morning coffee

This is really fun!!!!!!

visiting with howdie

One lovely evening Geo got a lovely long visit with his favorite kind of friend I got a chance to photograph the great old tractor out of it garage.

Still Water doves....

The doves make a lovely little cooing sound. The front pasteur is full of sheep morning and evening. Chip the dog herds them out to grazing land during the day.
Traffic must go 5 mph to avoid little children and peacocks. The largest guest building hold an east and west wing with a great veranda on the front.

Still Water Beauty

I was so fascinated with these beautiful birds. They shed little feather all over the ground that have the most brilliant color in them. I was so busy collecting them for an art project one morning that I walked right into a tree and bonged my head..... lesson: remember to look where you are going went hunting peacock feathers!

Old beloved farm equipment was in abundance
and will make great drawing projects, and of course images of the barn!

more Still Water Images

The male of any species is the most colorful and beautiful!
Geo and I like to collect barns and the one at Still Water is very beautiful as barns go.....
The cottage is the one we stayed in....

Teachers cottage at Still Water Cove ranch

Still Water Cove Ranch was originally a boys school at the turn of the last century. The buildings are old and beautiful. We stayed in the teachers cottage, were greeted at the door by big blue the peacock. We brought our own goodies and made our own meals including fresh squeezed orange juice with our breakfast. It is reminded us both of being at camp. The wonderful woodsy smells, the sound of the animals and of course the ocean air.
