Sunday 8/2/09/ Photo project/Stillness and Motion

These sequential shots of one of our squash blossom are about stillness and motion. A very good friend of ours told us the trick to life is to balance stillness and motion. Since our weekdays are all about motion, we try and find the moments of stillness in the weekends. These shots were taken at the height of the afternoon sun, when these blossoms normally close up to protect them selves from the heat. This blossom remained open for some unknown reason. Which resulted in a feeding frenzy by the bees, coming and going,coming and going, coming going..........I sat in our old green garden chair and took sequential shots of all their motion. The irony was not lost on me, that their moment of motion was my moment of stillness.....!
