Saturday August 1st,2009

Wow! How did we get here. We can't believe it is August already. But looking at the food we are harvesting, including armfuls of lavender for the closets, the color of the blue sky, and the activity of the squirrels who are starting to collect and store, there is no doubt summer is coming into it's last month. We have a camping trip planned to Whiskey Town Lake to sail the boat and swim and eat and relax for a week in September. This weekend Geo began getting out all our equipment and making sure it all worked. The first step was to unpack and set up the tent and make sure all the parts were present and accounted for. The story on this tent is as follows: A couple of years ago Deirdre tells George, " I am too old to sleep on the ground any more". George found this 11 by 18 foot tent and created a very comfortable bed and breakfast for us. With fold and go beds inside and partitions that create 3 separate rooms we rival any hotel! Thank you Geo!
So, this weekend I have harvested our lavender for closets[smells great and deters moths], found frames for my photo project and hung it on the hall wall, and last night we took Geo's mom out to dinner and then for a walk/stroll up and down Santa Cruz Ave. It was such a mild lovely evening and as you can see from the pictures, everyone was very relaxed and had a great time. today[Sunday] more adventure, but I probably won't post until next week.
PS:
I want to give a big thank you to Norine M and Laura W !!!!! They both donated the seeds and seedlings for our kitchen garden and we owe all this beauty and abundance to their generosity!!!! Thanks Guys! We are really enjoying our garden,,,,

Love
