We have  had a wonderful Memorial Day. We have grilled pancakes, harvested fava beans, grilled favas and chicken, played in the sun, listened to the Giants win, and cooked fava beans and pasta for supper. We hope all of you have had an equally wonderful time.

Memorial Day weekend 2009

Friday night we watched Stanford baseball. Saturday we drove over the hill to the coast and spent the night with Sheila and Rahim. The images below are from our weekend. She and Ra are warm, funny, and generous and giving, and it is always a treat to spend time with them . They are full of adventure and always make us feel so welcome. We shared great food, alot of laughter, and good and much needed relaxation. As you will see from these pictures they are good stewards of the land. Their home is surrounded by beautiful trees that they have taken great care of, and their dogs and cats and horses are very lucky indeed to have such owners.  The green house is new since the last time we visited and seems to be doing a nice job of growing food that needs a warmer climate than the coast provides. As always we send our thanks for such a fun and wonderful overnight.
