Geo putting in fava beans Jan 2009

Geo worked so hard today! He planted over 750 fava beans in our back kitchen garden!!!! Thank you George for such a labor of love. I will start looking for new fava bean recipes immediately!!!!

Well, here we are in a new year. This weekend is especially sunny and warm and we are both enjoying it to the fullest. Geo has planted our fava bean crop and pruned the fruit trees. We are so glad for this sunny day , even though we know we need rain.

A special thanks to Carol and Paul for a wonderful book on perennials. Geo's garden grows in the wonderful dark soil you see on this page, where as mine grows on paper. Thanks to you both for new garden ideas and new shoes !!!!! We look forward to many adventures this year.

We went for a walk for a couple of hours on New Years Day and discovered all sorts of beauty in our own little neighborhood.......

Many of you have inquired how long the trains and race cars would remain set up in the living room? News Years Eve we had a crab feast and dismantled the train set and the race care set. We moved the furniture back where it belongs and had a regular living room for all of 8 hours. Here you see  pictures of Geo setting up the race track AGAIN!! This was one of his Christmas gifts this year and I am please to say it was a hit!!!
